In line with our commitment to environmental conservation, KUZA UPENDO WELFARE ASSOCIATION recently led a successful community tree planting initiative in Nakuru County. The event, themed “Greening the Future,” brought together more than 200 volunteers from local schools, youth groups, and environmental clubs.
Over 1,000 tree seedlings were planted across the designated area, focusing on indigenous species that promote long-term ecosystem balance. The initiative aimed to combat deforestation, encourage sustainable living, and educate communities about the importance of environmental stewardship.
The day also included an awareness campaign on proper waste disposal and the benefits of maintaining clean surroundings. Participants shared ideas on how to make small daily choices that protect the environment — from reducing plastic use to recycling household waste.
“This initiative is more than planting trees; it’s about nurturing a culture of care for the planet,” noted the environmental coordinator at KUZA UPENDO. “Every tree planted today represents hope for a healthier, greener Kenya.”
KUZA UPENDO remains committed to expanding its environmental programs across the country, ensuring that future generations inherit a cleaner and more sustainable world.
